Wow! Wow, Wow, Wow, WOW! This was one of the best fake fiancé stories I have ever read! Talk about a slo-o-o-o-o-w bu-u-u-u-rn, bring you to your knees read! Do you get the idea? I absolutely loved this slow seduction – of each other and of the reader.

Bonus smile: Though CHARADE is a stand-alone contemporary romance; there is an Easter egg for Jade Jamison’s BULLET lovers. You absolutely do not need to know anything about that book in order to enjoy the Easter Egg, but for those of us who have read the previous book the recognition will bring a squee of joy.

CHARADE is the first book in the Pretense and Promises series. I, for one, I’m looking forward to what may come next.

Narration: Kathryn Lynhurst does wonderfully with pronunciation (I only noticed one word that I was truly lost and had to back up and figure out. I believe she meant to say pinochle, the card game.) While her narration is not perfect – she does drop consonant plosives at the ends of some words – she is perfectly understandable and clear. Her voice drama is beautifully presented. This is the first book I have listened to with Kathryn Lynhurst as the narrator, but I’m going to say right now that she is already one of my favorite narrators so far.
