Description from the publisher:
Mac Argeneau knows all too well: immortals can be killed. Not with holy water or silver crosses, but by decapitation or being set on fire. So when Mac’s house bursts into flames—with him inside—he’s sure it was no accident. But who would want to kill a scientist specializing in hematology? There is a silver lining: a blonde investigator appears on the scene and sparks feelings in him that have been dormant for centuries.

CJ Cummings is in town on a special investigation, but she’s been waylaid by the local police to deal with this arson case. The biggest mystery is how this sexy scientist with silvery blue eyes has emerged from a blazing inferno without a burn mark on him. He’s clearly hiding something. Sure, she’d love to see him without his lab coat, but she’s got a job to do—despite his insistence that he needs a bodyguard and...he wants her

But when a second attempt on their lives puts CJ in harm’s way, it’s Mac who will do anything to safeguard the woman who’s destined to be his life mate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MEANT TO BE IMMORTAL is the thirty-second book in the Argeneau series.  Each story does stand on its own, but there is heavy involvement from cross-over characters.
Starting with flames, it only gets hotter.  Hot doesn’t begin to describe the swoon-worthy dedication of Mac when it comes to protecting CJ.
Many old friends are included and Bricker explaining Immortals as Casper the Friendly Vampires was TOOOOOO funny.  In fact, the whole story was charming and endearing.
If you only read one book from this series, choose this one.  Me, personally, I started reading the series before I had a blog and before I started writing reviews.  I read them because I love these stories.
Note:  While I received this book as a gifted ARC via NetGalley, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Description from the publisher:
Rocco Caldo is tall, dark, and handsome, but not interested in love. Loyal to a fault, he can’t turn away an old friend in need or a beautiful woman on the run…especially when they have unfinished business.
Rebel Bishop is a single mom, looking for shelter, not a handout. But when her path crosses with an old flame, they uncover an ember of passion that’s been smoldering inside them both for over a decade.
Can they move beyond their tragic pasts, allowing the flame to burn bright into their future?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EMBER is the seventh book in the Men of Inked, Heatwave series.  Each book in the series will stand alone, but for maximum enjoyment (and for the love of the family) read all of the Men of  Ink stories in the order of release.

At the end of SPARK we knew Carmello and Rocco had been in a car accident and it was bad.  There were also two girls in the car with them.  Rebel Bishop was one of those girls.  After one night with her, Rocco knew that she was his “the one.”

A second chance, ten years after that fateful night is a fast-paced, swoony, passionate, and suspenseful story that I could not put down.  I love Rocco’s unending protectiveness.

Bliss writes the perfect blend of hope and fear that Rocco and Rebel hold in their hearts after the traumas of her past and their shared accident.

This story was flawlessly presented, and I cannot wait to return to the Gallo family to find out who will be paired with Carmello.  He deserves his happily ever after, too.

Note:  While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLOOD KILLS is the fourth book in the Angelina Bonaparte series.  They should be read in the order of release.
Retrouvaille (n.), the joy of meeting or finding someone again after a long separation.
Merriam-Webster(.com) Dictionary
I have waited three years for this release.  Angie and Wukowski have also been waiting three years (948 days) for their reunion. Just sixteen days before his retirement and their reunion, fate in the form of a murder scene, brings them together sooner than planned.
I listened to the first three books in the series on Audible, and grabbed the kindle edition of this as quickly as I could because of how much I had loved Angelina Bonaparte before.  Though I was reading this time, in my head I was still hearing the voice of Kieren Callan Metts (the narrator).
I love the quotes at the beginnings of the chapters and in the voices of the characters.  It amazes me the amount of research that must go into finding an appropriate quote and the sources vary from Confucius and famous poets to memes, A.A. Milne (Winnie the Pooh), and advertising slogans.
Between the suspense story and my happiness at having Angie and Ted back together kept me glued to my kindle.
I love how Wukowski (Ted) tries so hard to balance his natural protectiveness with a need to respect Angie’s independence.  Angie is independent, but also respects Ted’s need to protect.  It makes them a perfect couple.
The investigation into death of Mick Swanson could be ripped from headlines – in fact, that’s what started Ms. Rathbun started on this story.  Actually a footnote from a headline story, and the thought of, “what if it was a killer who …”
I’m looking forward to what the next story may be as we look back into Angie’s past.  I only hope we don’t have to wait another three years!
