Description from the publisher:
Lady Hyacinth believes she's destined to be a princess. The prince of a small country visits London and she declares she'll make him fall in love with her in less than a sennight. After all, she would make the perfect princess…

Rhys Rossington, the Earl of Carrick works for the home office and he's assigned to the prince while he's visiting. Some believe he is visiting for nefarious reasons and expect Rhys to uncover if the royal visit is something evil in disguise.

Rhys and Hyacinth both remain close to the prince, but neither one of them expect where it will lead them. While they've openly disliked each other, whatever their differences are, sometimes love is stronger than hate. With danger lurking in the shadows, they must finally face their feelings, or risk never admitting what is truly inside their hearts.

SPYING ON MY SCOUNDREL is the thirteenth book in the Linked Across Time series.  Though each will stand on its own, I recommend reading them all and in the order of release to understand the intertwining relationships.

While neither of these main characters did any time traveling, they are well acquainted with others who have and that is why they are in this series.  No time travel and light on the intrigue, this was still a wonderful, flirty romance.

I liked the angst as Hyacinth is the belle of the season determined to win the eye of a foreign prince, but still smitten with Rhys and fighting that attraction.  This makes for some great push and pull.

I continue to love this series and hope there will be many more books in the future (and the past – hehehe).

Description from the publisher:

Charlie London has finally made it. She's the lead singer of a rising-the-charts band. She's casually dating Hollywood's golden boy. And she has a publicist who works very hard to make sure everyone knows all of this. But when her band is bumped from a televised holiday concert--and her boyfriend is photographed canoodling with a co-star--just days before Christmas, Charlie's perfectly crafted world is crumbling apart. She impulsively hops a flight to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, so she can bring her boyfriend in line and get her career back on track. Her plan seems to be working until a winter storm leaves her stranded en route.

Guitarist Flint Randal has been crazy about Charlie from the moment she walked in to audition for their band three years ago. Knowing her strict policy against dating a bandmate, he's kept his feelings in check. Until now. When grounded planes send them on a cross-country road trip--alone--Flint sees his chance to finally prove that her one-and-only has been there all along.

As detours and disasters plague their journey, Charlie and Flint grow closer. Will the magic of the holiday season--and the promise of true love--bring them together at last? Or will the siren call of fame get in the way?

WHO NEEDS MISTLETOE? Is a stand-alone contemporary Christmas-themed romance.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.  I love Christmas time stories.  I can read them any time of the year.  I love the positivity, the feel-good, the charity, and the over-all sparkly of magic that is I hope will be present.  This book had all of that and makes me so glad I read it.

I don’t follow any of the star-gossip magazines, blogs, or tweets.  I, personally, don’t care about their personal lives.  I love music, movies, books, etc., but I don’t believe the artists have a voice in my political, purchasing, or personal life.  So, reading a story where the people’s lives are steered by worries about those issues gave me concern at the beginning.  As it turns out, Charlie and Flint don’t actually want to be concerned with the gossip-mags during their cross-country journey.

I loved getting to know Charlie and Flint as they got to know each other during their road trip.  They were fantastic character and this story was filled with the holiday spirit.  Forget “Christmas in July,”  I had “Christmas in June” while reading this.

This was the first book I read from this author – I picked it up because of the Christmas theme.  I would gladly read more from her.

Description from the publisher:

Turbocharge Your Child's Learning With These Fun Word Puzzles!

Are you doing your best to raise a successful, confident child who can make a positive impact on the world?

Then you surely know about the importance of language skills. Faster reading means faster learning, better grades, and more self-confidence. Excellent writing, with a rich vocabulary and effortlessly correct spelling, is one of the keys to professional success.

However, learning these skills isn't easy, especially with typical school assignments that often seem boring and repetitive.

But what if there was a way to practice spelling and reading in a way that's actually appealing to kids?

Well, there is. Children's brains learn by playing games and solving puzzles - unlike the typical spelling drills practiced at schools, this type of learning is natural, intuitive, and effective.

By offering your child word puzzles such as these word search activities, you'll boost their language skills without boring them to death! Your child will get a chance to learn new words, recognize familiar ones, and remember their spelling with effortless ease - which results in better writing, faster reading, and higher grades in ALL subjects, not just English.

Here's what makes this activity book so special:

  • A whopping 100 word search puzzles - if your child does two puzzles per day, that's almost TWO MONTHS of fun!
  • Topics that expand your child's knowledge of the world - you'll find everything from AIRPORT to ZOO!
  • A healthy mix of easy and tricky words in every puzzle - your child will NEVER complain that the puzzles are "too easy" or "too hard"!
  • An answer key at the end of the book - in case both of you can't find a word, just FLIP to the end and discover the solution!
  • FREE BONUS inside!

This book is a perfect gift for boys and girls aged 8-10, but it can provide fun for the entire family if you choose to solve the puzzles together!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are one hundred word search puzzles!  Each one has six words and they are all in a left to right or from top to bottom.  I would have liked to see some progression of difficulty – whether it was an increase in the number of words or to have some words written backwards.  I give it 4.5 stars as is, but rounded up.
This is a great way to practice vocabulary and spelling skills!
Note:  While I received this book as a gifted copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
