BETA is the third book in the Vanguard series.  Though it will probably stand on its own, I wouldn’t recommend it as such.  Instead, read them all to better understand the characters and how they relate to one another.

I love Robert.  His daily countdown until Spice and Eric return is cute and relatable to anyone who has had to endure unwanted responsibility.

Esther is no Buffy!  Yes, any time someone says slayer, the comparison will be made, but there is no comparison.  Esther is all woman – beautiful, intelligent, talented, and in control of herself.  Esther doesn’t need a posse, but one hunka werewolf can’t be denied.

I loved the fast pace and stayed up past my bedtime to finish it.  I do hope we find out in a later book who hired Esther to slay Daedalus.  I have my suspicions; I hope I’m wrong.

KNEEL DOWN is the third book in the Nailed Down series.  Though each will stand on its own, I highly recommend reading them all and in the order of release.

I loved Dale and Gin right from the start, but Dale had issues weren’t being addressed and Gin wasn’t speaking up about what she wanted.  “…it was the words we didn’t say that injured the most.  It was the silence that kept us from what we want.” 

Talk people!  Even when they started to talk, they still weren’t sharing what they needed to say.  For each being the other’s best friend, they weren’t really there for each other when it came to building the one relationship that should matter the most.  I wanted to shake the ever-living stuffing out of both of them! 

‘I love him, but I don’t trust him’ annoyed me for most of the book, and yet it is still a five-star read.  Emotion is emotion.  Love is love.  A protective alpha and a friendship that is realized as love will always make my heart swell and go pitter patter.  When they can no longer deny their feelings, when they finally talk about all of the things that really matter, and when they learn to trust themselves and the other person, that’s when lust becomes true love.  That is the plot you will find in these pages and you will love.  Now, I think you will agree that I have given you a tease without spoiling …. Pick up a copy and get ready to shake the ever-living stuffing out of these two!

LOVE & GHOSTS is the first book in the Crescent City Ghost Tours series. As always, I recommend reading a series in the order of release.  This story does stand alone, but why would you want only one?  It is an absolutely fantastic book – part ghost adventure, part romance, and all of it engrossing.

Sean and Emily are meant to be together – like Westley and Buttercup.  The movie, The Princess Bride is significant in their relationship, but I will allow you to discover the many ways that it was used as a literary tool.  Still, I must say a few things.  “Since the invention of the kiss, there have been 5 kisses that have been rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind.”   Sean even said, “As you wish,” long before he actually said, “I love you.”  For those of us who know and love the movie, this quote above all others is monumental.

I loved the insta-attraction, but slowly building relationship between Sean and Emily.  I loved the mystery of Emily’s past relationship with the supernatural and how it was slowly revealed.

The characters, the location, and the story all combined to provide a thrilling story that I devoured in a spellbound afternoon. 

I don’t know what magic Carrie Pulkinen has invested into the pages of her book, but I approve.  She always delivers entertainment, goose bumps, and romance.
