Description from the publisher:
Michael Gallo found his calling in life – he wants to kick ass. He works at Inked as a piercer, but spends his mornings training and dreaming of winning an UFC championship. Michael is the road to achieving his goal when a chance encounter alters his world forever. The title is no longer enough – he must capture the woman of his dreams.

Dr. Mia Greco is dedicated to saving lives and helping those less fortunate. She doesn’t have time to meet Mr. Right with her busy schedule. She buries herself in her work and helping humanity. Fate steps in and sweeps the carpet out from under her. She tries to deny the pull to him, a man that uses his fists for gain, but the universe won’t let her walk away so easy and Michael isn’t one to take no for an answer.

He has a secret that may rip them apart. There are forces bigger than them at work; drawing them in and making their worlds collide – not letting either one of them walk away.

This is the second book in the Men of Inked series.  They each stand on their own, but I would recommend reading them in order.

Michael Gallo may be tattooed and muscled, but he is not a muscle head.  He knows what he wants and works hard to
go after it.  What he wants is the championship in MMA fighting.  Then he meets Dr. Mia Greco and now he has two desires, two passions to pursue.  Mia is drawn to Michael, but abhors both his vocation and his avocation.  Discovering his secret may be one thing too many to deal with.  Will it rip them apart?

I love love-stories and this one was a great one.  There was just the right balance of angst, passion, and external forces to keep me turning the pages, but my favorite character this time was Ma Gallo.  Michael’s mother wants grandchildren and she doesn’t really care who knows it.  She is a constant presence, often with crochet hook producing baby blankets, and the glue that holds this family together.  Suzy and City (aka Joey) return in this story, as well as Izzy.  What can I say, I love the whole Gallo family and I’m looking forward to returning to them as soon as possible.

Grammar/editing:  ungraded – book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused

His hand rested against my back, pulling me closer, and I became lost in his kiss. The feel of his rough thumb pad as he stroked my face made my body feel on fire. The sound of the rain beating against the truck, the thunder rumbling outside, and our breath frantic and quick, filled the cab.
I climbed in his lap as he gripped my ass and pulled my bottom to him. I could feel his hardness against me and I ached to feel him inside.
I couldn’t deny myself any longer.
“Take me home, Michael. Stay with me tonight.” I didn’t even have to think about it.
I wanted him.
The light touches, commanding kisses, and the feel of his hardness had me wanting more, needing it.
“Mia, I don’t know if that’s a good idea,” he whispered against my lips.
“I want to feel your skin against me. Remind me what it feels like to be loved, Michael. Show me the beauty and make me forget.” I held myself up and stared in his eyes. “Please,” I begged.
His fingers swept against my cheek and I leaned into his touch, closing my eyes. “I’ll do anything you ask,” he said.
