Description from the publisher:

Welcome to Serendipity, Texas, a town where real people deal with real problems.  Meet characters in their thirties and forties struggling with day-to-day issues and managing to find love in the process.  Visit Serendipity, where the days are hot, and the nights are steamy!

According to the latest research, people who are HIV positive can live long, healthy lives with proper treatment and healthy lifestyles.  So, why can’t Rachel seem to let go and be up front with Sam?  Because he’s the first person to show interest in her in, well, a long time.  She’s spent her adult life dealing with her illness and caring for her daughter alone, the only way she really knows how.

Sam is dealing with his own issues: a single dad, a new town, transfer to a new position in a different firehouse, where he’s got to go through all the initiation rookie stuff all over again.  But why won’t the hot neighbor let down her walls to let him in?

When she does, will he react the way she needs him to?  Or will it all just be a Hot Mess?

Sparks fly as the heat level rises in this new novel of Serendipity.

HOT MESS is the fourth book in the Stories of Serendipity series.  Each will stand on its own, but for maximum enjoyment read them all!

First thing you need to understand is what is a hot mess.  Most of the country now understands this Southernism.  A hot mess is someone who is making a mess of their life but is sexually desirable anyway.

I loved the forthright manner in which such a sensitive topic - living with HIV/AIDS - was discussed, and education was given to the reader without being overwhelming.  I loved that all of the emotions of life were brought into this one story and because of it I couldn’t stop reading.  I’ve learned that I have to plan to read Anne Conley’s books on the weekend, because I will stay up way past my bedtime to finish.

I think Rachel may be my favorite character in Serendipity and that is not an easy decision to make!  Sam comes in as a close second.  Together they will probably be my favorite couple in all of Anne’s books.  This story is amazing and I’m going to recommend it to anyone who will listen to me.

If you only read one book from Anne Conley, pick this one.

Note:  While I received this book as a gifted copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
