Eleanor is the illegitimate, biracial daughter of the Duke of Daventry. After her mother died, she was brought from the West Indies to England and raised along with his rightful heirs as an equal.
The main characters are well defined and the romance beautifully written. The mystery regarding the stolen dress was a little slim. Read it for the romance, not the mystery.
