book in the Rogues of Redmere series. Though each stands alone, it is better to
read them all and in the order of release
A fun and excellent story of spies
in England during the Napoleonic Wars, I found the touch of true history
regarding Napoleon’s mistress to be especially intriguing. This book also got me to thinking more about
women who didn’t want to dress in fashion and how they would be perceived in
that era. Patience (who doesn’t seem to
have any) is a breath of fresh air in that regard. She may be a woman, but she will roar… and
fight, and run, and route out a spy for her country as well as any man!
As always, a Samantha Holt story is
all about the journey to love with plenty of humor. I love that about every story I have read
from her and this one is no exception.
