Description from the publisher:
Lily
Hayes is a beautiful 3rd grade teacher who enjoys her job very much, and has an
amazing best friend who keeps her entertained. The only problem in Lily's life
is that she always dates lame, boring, passionless men. No one has ever brought
her any adventure. No one gives her excitement, and after being cheated on by
her last boyfriend, Lily is ready for a change.
A change is exactly what she finds when she meets Kelvin Carter Jr. Kelvin is everything Lily wants in a man: sexy, passionate, spontaneous, attractive, powerful, and the best sex she has ever had. He is perfect. But perfection comes with a price. Kelvin may be exactly what Lily is looking for, but he is also a branch on a Chicago mob's family tree and the son of a notorious mob boss.
When the couple commences a heart-pounding, overwhelmingly sensual relationship, Lily must decide what she desires more; love and satisfaction, or her own safety.©

Suddenly, Lexy gasped loudly.
"Oh my god, Lil. Turn around right now!"
“Seriously, Lex, this better be something worth looking at.” I turned around again, and that’s when I saw him.
He wasn’t anywhere near as old as the other men in the group. This man was wearing a gray suit with a light blue undershirt that had the top two buttons undone, revealing a muscular, heavily tattooed, hairless chest. His beard was perfectly trimmed around the sides of his face and mouth and his short hair was perfectly edged on all sides. He had one hand on the table and the other by his mouth, revealing an obviously expensive silver watch with a light blue face that was surrounded by diamonds, and his hand and wrist were covered in tattoos. His purple handkerchief was perfectly stuffed into the outside pocket of his jacket.
I couldn’t stop staring. It was like I was watching a model during a photo shoot. His caramel skin was as flawless as the diamond studs in his ears. He opened his mouth to speak to one of the other men and my attention immediately dropped down to his perfectly plump lips. I couldn’t hear anything he was saying, but I watched his gorgeous mouth move until he was done talking. I knew at some point he could look up and see me, but it was like I was stuck in a trance and I couldn’t move. I just kept staring at him. He was physically perfect.
“Okay,” I heard Lexy say from behind me, “make it a little less obvious, Lil. Don’t look like a stalker.”
“Who is that?” I asked as I continued gawking.
“How the hell should I know? Just stop staring. Shit, he’s getting up. Lil, turn around!” ©

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lily is a teacher bored with her
love life. Her last relationship ended
with her partner’s infidelity. Ready for
change and open for adventure, she meets Kelvin Carter, Jr. Kelvin dresses well, has a car, a motorcycle,
and a penthouse. He also has secrets he
is not yet ready to disclose. Lily and
Kelvin embark on a steamy, erotic, heart-pounding romantic adventure together,
but Lily must decide if she is willing to risk life and heart.
I was drawn into this story of Lily
and Kelvin Carter, Jr. I empathized with
Lily facing a new future after the humiliation of catching her last boyfriend
in a compromising position with a co-worker. The side story of vandalism was
compelling and kept me turning the pages well past bedtime. Lily is strong, yet feminine. She is a first
year teacher and her maturity level is well-represented – an unsure adult on
her first steps into the world after college.
Mr. Greer did an admirable job of
getting into the mind of this young woman.
Kelvin, the same age, but working in the family casino business faces
and hides his own set of demons. I am
looking forward to this story continuing.
