MINA’S HEART is the second book in
the Safeword: Oasis series. Though each story will stand on its own, I recommend
reading them in the listed order. This
second book is another second-chance romance.
I’m wondering if the nature of the business lends itself to a lot of
second-chances? We’ll see.
I said I’d come back to Oasis and
Vermont, but no sooner do I return – with Mina – but it’s snowing. I hate snow(!) and she crashes her rental
right about the same spot where Everett and Wilder lost their father the year
before. Gah!
I loved Mina’s innocence, sweetness,
stubbornness, pride, and passion. I
loved Everett’s determination. He almost
seemed like an overeager hound dog puppy in his exuberance to gain his girl and
explain later. Once again, communication
is a learned skill; Maturity is the teacher that must be obeyed.
In the first book I praised meddling
friends. When it came to Mina’s heart,
Everett’s friends believe they are protecting and they are not about to assist…
at first. I have to admire loyalty… to a
point.
This second chance had to
happen. They had to meet again. They had to talk it out. They had to find their way together. They had to start over, build their trust,
and learn together. Together is such a
big word in a relationship.
I am looking forward to more of this
series. I love so many of these characters
and can’t wait to see who finds their happily every after next.
