DIRTY RICH CINDERELLA STORY is the second book in the Dirty, Rich series. They each stand on their own.

Just because this stands on its own, doesn’t mean we have left DIRTY RICH ONE NIGHT STAND behind. Lori works for Cat and Cole has been friends with Reese since college. So – Yeah! – a bit more of Cat and Reese! I love the small bits showing that their love has continued as strongly as ever. Their story didn’t end at “and they lived happily ever after.” It continues in the love of their careers, friends, and their relationship.

I freaking love Lori and Cole. Lori is stubborn, stubborn, stubborn. She is so determined to make her own way in the world that she almost didn’t recognize that love is a good thing. Like many, she has been mentally twisted up by something one of her parents did. She’s a woman who wants to control her own destiny, but she’s allowing the past hurt to control her more than she realizes.

Cole is alpha, a workaholic, and committed to never being committed,. All of that changes, and none of that changes when he meets Lori. He is good at reading people and he knows she’s different. He’s still alpha. He’s still committed to his job. But the HEA of being committed to one person can only happen when he shares control with Lori.

I love that they are both able to compartmentalize work hours and personal time. It’s not an easy skill, but for some of us it is inherent. I love that they are able to argue – correction, debate – without it becoming a personal sting. Instead they listen to each other and find the truth whether it is her side, his, or somewhere in the middle.

I absolutely loved this story. I could not put it down (and missed a few hours of sleep for it!). So worth it! Because they are lawyers, there were several cases discussed as they prepared for trials and I enjoyed that. There is also plenty of sexy time. Then there is the proposal. It had me laughing and tearing up at the same time. I could totally see that scene playing out in movie format!

As wonderful as the first two stories in this series have been, I hope there will be more!
