This is the first book in the series and they do need to be read in order. The next book will be available in October, 2014.

Riley meets seductive, rock-God, front-man Jax. It is supposed to be a one-night stand of epic proportions. It doesn’t work out that way. She walks away from the bad boy thinking that was the last she would see of him. Fate brings them back together. She was reckless when she walked away the first time; which way lies the greater danger now?

This was the first book I have read from Ms. West. I loved it! She has an in-depth understanding of the psychology behind human actions and she brings it out with artistic sweeps of her literary paint brush. “I’d never seen a man so savagely gorgeous.” I read that and I had to sit back and think about it. It doesn’t matter if you prefer blonde hair or black, blue eyes, green, or brown… imagine what “savagely gorgeous” means to you. I immediately thought of Tarzan, chiseled muscles, lean, and primal. Isn’t all of that a yummy thought?

Beyond being beautifully written, the story itself was amazing, unique, and full of surprises. There was no “formula” in this book as happens in a good many romances. I loved how I was constantly kept on my toes and could NOT guess what was going to happen next.

This book does end in a cliffhanger – and one hell of a one, at that! I promise you do want to read the book, but if you hate cliffies, wait until October when you can jump that cliff immediately. Meanwhile, I’ll be counting down the days.

Ms. West, thank you for writing such a wonderful escape from reality. I hope to read more from your backlist soon, as well as getting to read RECKLESS2 when it releases.
