I loved this story of second chances. I loved that the children were playing matchmakers for her.

Annika tried her hardest to deny her feelings, but true love cannot be refused no matter what else is hurting your heart.

The ending still has me smiling… a happy, happy, ever after to all!

Jesse moved in closer. Despite herself, Annika slid her hand up his chest and cupped his cheek. Still the same shape that molded perfectly into her palm.

Warning bells resounded in her head like Notre Dame. "Jesse, we can't. I...I can't..."

His gaze dropped to her mouth. "I understand." He moved in closer.

Her body had a mind of its own. Need pulsed in her veins her at his touch. He kissed her forearm and breathed her in.

"I love that perfume." He opened his eyes, full of desire.

Butterflies whirled in her belly at the ideas rushing through her head. More than anything, she wanted to pull him toward her and kiss him hard. To run her hands over his body and feel him inside her once more.

She reached up and tangled her fingers in his hair. He bent down until their lips were no more than a whisper apart. She tasted his apple-tinged breath on her tongue and yet still he didn't kiss her.

Her mind and heart battled trying to decide whether or not to give in.

"Jesse?" Carrie's voice floated from somewhere over his shoulder.

He didn’t turn. Instead, his eyes, and his hand, stayed planted right on Annika.

No. This wasn't right. She couldn't do this.
