CURSED BY THE MOON is the second
book in the Wolf River series. They will
each stand on their own, but I highly recommend reading them all and in the
order of release.

At the beginning of this wonderful
story, Noah is contemplating suicide. He
has been Bitten, he has PTSD from his time in Afghanistan, and he lost one of
his legs in an unexpected battle. It’s
all too much to adjust to at once, or so it seems. I understand the feelings of being
overwhelmed by life.
I loved that meeting Cara wasn’t an
insta-cure. Sure it did a lot for him
and his wolf. After all, this is a
romance novel, but there is still a realistic feeling to continuing struggle,
growth, therapy, setbacks, and gains.
I loved that Cara isn’t
perfect. In fact, her demons – and there
are many – could be as overwhelming as his.
I loved that two people so broken by
their pasts could find solace and relief in each other. This is when life is perfect. It may be fleeting – a stolen moment here or
there – but it makes facing the demons possible.
I would say the underlying theme of
this story is Hope. Hope for a positive
future no matter what negativity you have faced. We could all list the nightmares of our pasts
– some worse than others. Better yet, we
can choose to smile at those rainbow hued dreams that do come every once in a
while.
I am so thankful that we didn’t have
to wait long for Cara to receive a book in this series. I knew I wanted something wonderful to happen
for her after all that she went through in book one. I didn’t know the rest of her story and all I
can say is “wow.” No wonder she was
where she was! The next book will be
Griffin’s story. I am so looking forward
to it!
