THE GIRL THAT GOT AWAY is a
stand-alone, psychological thriller.
I enjoyed the suspense of this story
and the way that each chapter ended in a mini-cliffhanger before switching to
the other point of view. I liked the
clever twist that was Henry/Alex. I sat
in that car listening to the last two chapters instead of going into work. The final twist had me literally applauding.
I wondered why it needed to be set
twenty years ago (1997). There is one
reference to a pager, but that could easily be changed to a text message. This could happen anywhere and at any time.
This is the first book I have read
from Marin Montgomery. In my opinion,
she did an excellent job of providing suspense, puzzle, fear, and description.
Narration: I really enjoyed the
dual narration style of Grace Paunescu & D. Michael Hope. They both did an excellent job.
