The three stories were each divided
into three part serials. Each serial
needs to be read in the order of release.
I do not agree with the order of the
books in the boxset. The characters are
not progressing in age and growth. This
causes confusion.
WITCH MYTH YEW HOLLOW is the second
book in the series. Again, this was
originally released as a three part serial and the three parts do need to be
read in the order of their release. This
serial was originally released prior to A YEW HOLLOW CHRISTMAS, and should be
book one, not book two. It is confusing,
in my opinion, to have Morgan going from Coven leader to newly returned to the
Coven and her mother is the leader. I am
not certain why the author chose to rearrange these two from their release order.
I loved the characters in the first
book. I loved them at the beginning of
the second book. Towards the end of the
second and all through the third, the story took a very dark turn with
kidnapping in the name of helping the coven.
In the end, I loved them all again, but the darkness was overwhelming
for a while!
Narration: The narrations were
well done, but odd choices in my opinion.
Especially when listening to WITCH MYTH YEW HOLLOW (the second
story). The narrator is a middle-age
sounding Brit voicing a mid-twenties young lady from Massachusetts. The voice didn’t match the character and that
made it discombobulating. The best was the voice for the third
book. Unfortunately, I do not know which
narrator did which book.
In
summary:
Overall, though emotionally dark, I
did enjoy these stories very much. These
were the first books that I have read from this author and I would love to
listen to more!
