Description from the publisher:
Jane Farnsworth dreams of doing her part in the war against Napoleon, but her reality is limited to the wallflower chairs of London ballrooms. When she makes up an imaginary beau to save herself more torment from her childhood bully, Jane has no idea someone is listening to them.

Edward Smith, agent for the Home Office, has a mission: find the genius who broke his majesty’s semaphore codes, and discover if he’s friend or foe. Who’d have guessed that the luscious debutante he overhears mentioning his name, and the code breaker he seeks, are the same?

Soon, Edward will have to decide which is dearer to him—his orders, or this newfound love that was never supposed to be real.

THE WALLFLOWER CODE is a stand-alone, historical, romance, short story.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable story.  Jane is a wallflower and Edward first steps in as her knight in shining armor to take the wind out of the sails of a particularly vicious mean girl.  Imagine his surprise when she turns out to be the “man” he is supposed to be finding at this ball.  From there he's intrigued, and she is quickly falling for him as well.

I absolutely loved this charming and quick read.  I hope I get the chance to read more from this new author.

Note:  While I received this book as a gifted copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
