Description from the publisher:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury shows why she is America’s favorite inspirational novelist with this dramatic story about character, compromise, and the cost of having it all.
Zack Dylan has a dream. He wants to sing on the biggest stages, for the biggest crowds, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make it come true. But Zack also made a promise to his college sweetheart when he left Kentucky to compete on the popular TV show Fifteen Minutes: If he made it, nothing would change him or his faith in God.

Overnight, Zack becomes the nation’s most popular contestant, a country singer comparable to a young Tim McGraw. As his star rises, Zack is often asked to compromise and quiet his beliefs. Just as he’s on the verge of winning it all, his choices lead him to the brink of personal disaster. Meanwhile, a former Fifteen Minutes winner is searching for meaning amidst her own private losses. Can she warn Zack about the real price of fame? Or will Zack lose everything he loves for his fifteen minutes of glory?

From the novelist dubbed the “Queen of Christian Fiction” by Time magazine, Fifteen Minutes explores the cost of fame and celebrity set against the backdrop of America’s favorite singing competition.

In a bid to save his family farm, Zack auditions for an American Idol type show called Fifteen Minutes.  His family is praying for him.  His church is praying for him.  His girl is praying for him.  America is praying for him.  He leaves Kentucky behind to audition in Atlanta with the hope that he will shine to give glory to God and win to provide for his family.  As he performs and progresses on the show, he is tried with temptations of pride and lust.  Will his fifteen minutes of fame cost him the life he knows?

This book is a stand-alone, not affiliated with any of Ms. Kingsbury’s series.

I truly enjoyed this story.  Though I didn’t get the HEA I’m used to with Romance stories, the ending was satisfying, real, and appropriate to the storyline and genre.  I hope to pick up more books from Ms. Kingsbury.

Other books from this author:
As you all know by now, I do a bit of research on my authors when I am ready to read a book.  I have to admit, I have never read a Karen Kingsbury book before, so I was very surprised when looking on her website to see how very many books she has published.  Instead of listing them here, I have decided instead to provide the link to the library on her website:

originally posted 08.12.2013 on my previous website closed that site because I promoted authors and their books.
