Description from the publisher:
World's first woman. World's first vampire. World's worst at finding love.

Lilith doesn't believe in soulmates. If she couldn't make it work with the man she was literally created for, how could they possibly exist?

She goes to speed dating on the hunt for a man to quench her thirst. What she finds instead will either rock her world or be the final stake in the Queen of the Night.

Owl shifter Spencer has learned his lesson with powerful women. After his last girlfriend derailed his career and nearly destroyed him, he'd rather have his feathers plucked one by one than let another woman sink her talons into his heart.

When his sister convinces him to go to speed dating, he can't deny his attraction to the gorgeous crimson-haired vampire who captures his attention. But he refuses to get burned again.

Can two people who don't believe in love find happiness together? Or will their colliding worlds go up in flames?

Lilith is book fifteen in the Speed Dating with the Denizens of the Underworld shared world, filled with sultry vampires, sexy shifters, and more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LILITH is the fifteenth book in the multi-author Speed Dating with the Denizens of the Underworld series.  Each is a stand-alone paranormal romance.
I knew nothing about Lilith before reading this story.  So, for me, there was a lot of “first woman?  Huh?  What about Eve?  She’s friends with Eve now – thousands of years later – but what happened in the garden??????  I guess I’ll be doing some research after the book.  This did not take away from this story, it just made me more curious about the part of the biblical story that I don’t yet know.
Now, about Lilith and Spencer.
I love Spencer and his job.  An owl-shifter working as a cameraman on a show to hunt for cryptids (where the host is bigfoot) while never revealing their own.  What a hoot!  (See what I did there? Tee hee hee)
Lilith is an amazing character.  I think I would like her and her whole friend group.
I loved this story and was sorry to leave this world.  Carrie Pulkinen gave us the (long) list of coming stories in this series and I hope to be able to read many, many of them!
Note:  While I received this book as a gifted ARC via BookSprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
PLEAS OF THE POLTERGEIST by Molly Fitz & L.A. Boruff
Recommended for:  14+
Date completed: 08.18.2022
Description from the publisher:
My name is Mags McAllister, and I really need to stop being surprised when new ghosts show up at my door.
Thanks to my special spectral feline Shadow, I have a largely unwanted link to the spirit realm—and word is starting to spread that I’m a good person to haunt for those who wish to button up their unfinished business.
This time, my new ghost has a voice of her own, and she is definitely not afraid to use it—to make demands, complain, and even to criticize my choice of clothing. Frankly, I’m eager to help her, just so that I can be rid of this 1950s era loudmouth.
Once she’s taken care of, maybe I can finally start getting my own life in order… and finally choose between the two men who each hold a piece of my fractured heart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PLEAS OF THE POLTERGEIST is the third book in the Meowing Medium series.  These will be best understood if read in the order of release.

First things first – I want to visit Colonial Candles and just smell all the wonderful scents and maybe get to watch some candles being dipped.

Second, there was just the right amount of tension – spectral and earthly – to this cozy mystery.  The story kept me glued to my kindle far into the night.  Who needs sleep when there is a great story to be read?

Last, I agree with the choice of men at the end of the book.  When the right man has your back, you know it.

GORILLA IN THE HISS by Jodi Kendrick

Title:  GORILLA IN THE HISS
Series:  FUC Academy #32
Author:  Jodi Kendrick
Publisher:  Jodi Kendrick
Publish Date:   08.16.2022
Category /Genre:  Paranormal Romance, Rom-Com
Recommended for:  18+ due to sexual content.
Grammar/editing:  A – near perfect
Received from:  Jodi Kendrick
Goodreads link: Gorilla in the Hiss
Date completed: 08.12.2022

Description from the publisher:
Katharine Karak’s shiny new job at the FUCN’A is all about teaching cadets how to fit in with the one percent.
Zeek LeBrute swore he’d never return to the fight rings. Instead, he’s been teaching Academy cadets what he knows about fighting to survive.
No one knew that Katz and Zeek had a brief secret affair that changed their lives forever.
Neither had any idea their new paths were about to collide and set their plans ablaze in a sizzling dance of resistance to distracting passions.
When Darcy Karak and Caleb Terry ask them for help on their first big FUC case as agents, Katz and Zeek are faced with hard decisions for their families, the shifter community…and themselves.
How can this passionate kitty resist becoming distracted by such a hot gorilla to focus on her goals?
This gorilla may have to overcome his kitty’s hisses with kisses to prove it isn’t too late for them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GORILLA IN THE HISS is the thirty-second book in the multi-author FUC Academy series and the fourth in Jodi Kendrick’s Pedigree Series.  Each is a stand-alone, paranormal, romantic suspense story set in the FUC world created by Eve Langlais.  You will enjoy it more if you have read the others in the Pedigree sub-series.
I was long fascinated with the story of Koko (1971 – 2018), the gorilla who knew sign language and asked for a kitten for a pet in 1983.  I kept thinking of Koko as I read about Zeek, a gorilla-shifter, claiming his kitten, Katz, in this story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this playful story.  It had romance, suspense, family, obligations, independence, and humor, all perfectly interwoven to create something special.
Every book that I have read in the FUC Academy series has been wonderful and this is a great addition to the shelf.  There will always be “bad guys” in the world, and may we always have the cadets and agents of FUC!
Note:  While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Story Origin, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
