series has one of the Gods from Mount Olympus finding their true fated mate on
Earth. Artemis turns out to be one goddess not interested in just
laying around and enjoying the perks of immortality. Her personality requires adventure and
assisting the humans. Just because they
don’t worship her, doesn’t mean she’s ready to forget them. This whole series is FUN, but this book has some great lines
that definitely cracked me up. Artemis –
the Goddess of the Hunt – is determined to help Detective Hunter James. He has not desire for a partner … on the job
or at home. I loved the play of her name in mythology and his name. It’s also great fun to note that she is the
Goddess of Chastity (and childbirth), but that’s doesn’t mean she is – or has
been – celibate at all times. I loved how the author took the time to research – and it
shows – about Artemis. So many of her
religious designations are brought into the story. When a story can educate as well as
entertain, I’m completely on board! This is a detective story as much as it is a romance. The whole plot is beautifully thought out and
well written. Note: While I received

paranormal romance and has one of the Gods from Mount Olympus finding their
true fated mate on Earth. This was the first story I have read from Lisa Manifold and
I found it utterly charming and delightful.
I started this series with the second book because I love Carrie Pulkinen. I have found that there is more of the fun
and humorous paranormal romance to be devoured. That’s what this story is… fun, humorous, steamy romance,
great bantering dialogue, and a sweet story that kept me glued to the book from
beginning to (I wish it didn’t have to) end. I love the imaginative reworking of the Greek God characters
that we all think we already know.
Giving them a “mortal” existence – even if they are still immortal – is captivating. Zeus, now known as Z, is full of ego with life coming easy
to him for eons. Roxy believes herself
to be cursed in love. Watching her bloom
and him grow was exactly what my romantic heart loves to read. Note: While I received

make cameos in this story. You do not
need to have read that book to understand their relationship, it’s just a nice
Easter Egg for those of us who have read the previous books. Anyone who has read ***those**** BDSM books will roll their
eyes about the internal dialogue that happened there. At least in my mind, it has become a joke and
a standard for how *not* to write that type of angst. That said, this book is the antithesis –
Emme’s inner dialogues are perfectly written, as snarky as my own “inner
goddess.” Emme is not all rainbows and unicorns, but she isn’t a
victim either. After all, she has mad
“Crave Maggie” (Krav Maga) skills! Okay,
you won’t get that joke until you read the story --- then you’ll be thinking of
my review and laughing even harder. That
doesn’t change the fact that Emme is strong and yet sweet; soft and still
sassy. She may not react the way that is
expected, but that unexpected response is just a manifestation of her inner
depths! Reyes is the perfect MC Daddy Dom – IMHO…. Full stop,
perfect. He is protective, alpha,
strict, stern, and yet for his girl he is also as sweet as ice cream. This was the first book I read from this series. I hope I am lucky enough to pick up more as
