MILE HIGH WITH A VAMPIRE is the thirty-third release in the enormously popular Argeneau Series.  Each story will stand on its own, but there is heavy involvement with past and future couples.
 
As much as I love when “Aunt” Marguerite plays matchmaker as she often moves the characters around Canada as if they were the players in her own romantic chessboard, I much preferred this story.  Jet and Quinn meet more naturally.
 
Not only that, but this story was more suspenseful.  This was exciting!  It starts with a plane crash, continues with a mad-dash chase through the woods and then on to a siege in a remote clinic.  It could have just as easily devolved into a horror story.
 
I loved Quinn’s strength.  She may not have wanted to be an immortal, but she isn’t wringing her hands and refusing to live the new life she has.
 
No cliffie, but a great setup to continue the series.

FIGHTING FORTY is the second book in the An Immortal Midlife series.  This is a continuing storyline, so read all of the books and in the order of release.
 
Book two picks up right where book one left off and I expect book three to pick up where this one has ended.  As with most trilogies, the middle book is full of action and drama.  We get a lot of information about what isn’t working and why it won’t.  That’s just the way it is with book two of any trilogy.
 
Now did I like it…. Oh My! YES!!   This story had some humor, lots of emotion – good and bad, and plenty of intense scenes to keep me glued to it from page one to wishing for the next book NOW. 
 
I love these characters and I am hungry for the final chapter in this saga.

NELLIE'S REDEMPTION  is the fourth book in the Bad Girls of the West series.  If you haven’t read any other books in the series this will stand on its own, but you won’t “get” some of the inside jokes – like the fact that Nellie CAN swim… very well.  I didn’t find that out until I read the teaser for one of the other books that is offered after reading Nellie and Daniel’s story.
 
So, not knowing Nellie, I didn’t know how much redemption she needed.  All I knew was what was presented in this story.  To me she was a spoiled, selfish, stuck-up, princess with a huge chip on her shoulder for no apparent reason.
 
Daniel is immediately likeable.  He sees through the tantrums to the hurt person underneath Nellie’s bravado.  He is patient.  Remember that I said she had no APPARENT reason.  He doesn’t rush her.  He becomes her friend.  He gains her trust and learns the reason for that chip that lead to the walls she built.
 
Redemption it turns out is what both Nellie and Daniel need in their own hearts.  Trust in each other is the balm that provides it.
 
I loved this story and I am glad I didn’t know the mean girl before I met her on the trail to San Antonio.
