OCCULTURE SHOCK is the fourth book in the Familiar Curses series.  I had been given the impression that these could be read as stand-alones.  I agree and yet I also disagree.  I suggest reading the full series and in the order of release.  I wish I had read the other books previously and knew the characters better before I started.  It’s not necessary for the immediate cozy mystery, just for the continuing romance between Zoe and Sean and some other arcing storylines.
 
I love the concept of two realms and the magic portal in the wardrobe (like going to Narnia).  I love the characters and it was easy to quickly discern the continuing storylines.  I’m just a greedy girl who wants the whole story behind the story.  I also want to know what is going to come in the future. 
 
Yes, I enjoyed this story.  It’s charming!  There are mysteries to be solved and the characters are the type to quickly become literary friends.
