COLD PURSUIT is the second book in
the Cold Justice series. Each book will
stand on its own, with the exception of A Cold Dark Promise, which is a follow
up novella to A Cold Dark Place. There
is some mention of Mallory and Alex from A Cold Dark Place, but you do not need
to have read their story to enjoy this one.
Oh. Em. Gee. Every mother’s nightmare is capsulized in the
first two chapters! (Though that is far from the end of the terror and
suspense). My own (ex) daughter-in-law
was present during a mall shooting and could share with you the terror of a gun
in a crowd.
The tension and suspense start on
page one and from there is fast-paced action and non-stop drama – sexual
tension, global tension, family tension, … grip the wheel and hold on for a
hard ride!
Knowing how Vivi felt was natural,
but also including the villains’ voices allowed empathy and sympathy for
another culture to be brought through as well.
My advice: do not miss this book or this series….
Especially this book.
Narration: Eric G. Dove is very
warm and easy to listen to as he narrates the story. He sounded so much like another narrator that
I have enjoyed in the past that I had to go make sure it wasn’t the same
name. Of that narrator, I wrote that his
voice was a sinful dark chocolate dessert.
