Description from the publisher:
Camille
Ryan is in her final year at Southern State University. Working as a bartender
in a local establishment in order to support herself, she knows from her
mother’s experience with her alcoholic father not to depend on anyone. That is
until travelling businessman Rick Pantanelli decides to visit her bar. He is a
handsome, well-off, successful professional and her senior by a full 17 years.
Camille is used to doing everything she is expected to do. But when she meets Rick she is swept away by his good looks, his charm and his ability to take care of her. Rick is used to getting what he wants. But when he meets Camille he is swept away by her beauty and her inner fragility. He finds himself believing he can take care of her. Is this belief strong enough to make him a better man?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Camille is a broken woman who
doesn’t expect much from her life. She
doesn’t believe she deserves much either.
As the child of a cold mother and an alcoholic father, Camille immerses
herself in her studies at university. She
becomes the mistress of a man who is passionate and generous, but not very open
to allowing her into his life. During
her internship, she meets Joe. Joe is
warm and gentle. Joe understands her
fears for her father’s future, because he has watched his own brother also
struggle with alcoholism. Joe offers
stability, protection, and understanding.
Which is the life she dreams of having?
This story approaches some deep subjects: alcoholism, the naiveté of youth, and the
romanticizing of being a mistress. All
were approached delicately and with compassion – very well done in my humble
opinion.
I loved watching Camille realize her
own strength. I won’t say which man she chose,
but I hope Ms. Livingston chooses to do another book that allows for a Happily
Ever After for the one not chosen.
Kim, you keep writing, and I’ll keep
reading. You have one devoted fan here.
