Description from the publisher:
Trishelle Page has known pain in her
life, but instead of it making her weak, she's stronger. Confident. That is
until the day a fairy kidnaps her during her starring role in Peter Pan's play
and tells her not only do fairy tales exist, but that she's the soulmate of the
pirate they call Hook, making her question everything she ever thought she
knew.
Captain James Hook is a man at the end of his rope. He's not the villainous bastard tales have made him out to be. So when the curvaceous blonde drops literally at his feet, he aims to prove it to her. If only to get her into his bed.
What neither one knows is that fate and magic are conspiring and they can deny the attraction all they want but their happily ever after is already written, it's just a matter of getting there.

This is the fifth book in the
Kingdom Series. I have not read any of
the others in this series and can assure that it does stand alone. Still, there is no mistaking that some of the
characters mentioned most assuredly must have their own stories.
This is definitely NOT Disney’s Peter
Pan, though I kept hearing the voices of Mr. Smee and Captain Hook as those
portrayed in that beloved cartoon movie.
This is also not the Captain Hook as portrayed by the inimitable Dustin
Hoffman. This Hook is hawt! He has been tortured buy the loss of his one
true love for over 100 years.
I loved how Ms Hall was able to make
me feel the angst and fear of loving again in James Hook and the terror of
loving at all for Trisha. Love is a
scary thing. To allow yourself to depend on someone else –
To allow another person to own part of your heart and soul – and – To tear down
the walls you have in place to protect yourself and allow them to know the real
you. Until you have felt real and true
love, those are horribly frightening concepts.
I loved seeing James and Trisha come to the realization that none of
that is scary when you meet the other half of yourself, your true mate.
Please note: the subjects of domestic violence and suicide
are briefly touched upon. Just a warning
for anyone sensitive to these topics as possible triggers.
My copy of this book came with a
bonus - another full length story, The Sea Queen, the first book in the
Dark Queen series by Jovee Winter. I
loved it!
