This is the second book in the
Prospect Springs Shifters series. Though
it would stand alone, I believe it best to read both and in order.
While Jon and Molly were getting
reacquainted (see Blaze of Glory), Parker MacSweeny is peeling back the
layers to discover who Lynn is. She
isn’t Molly. She also isn’t Lynn…, but
she is his mate. Though he has never had
an interest in monogamy, his wolf has already claimed her. Will she accept the claim? Will he discover her deepest secrets?
I am not admitting how long I stayed
on the treadmill with this one… if I admit it, I’ll be expected to walk that
long every day! Let me just say, I
couldn’t quit until I knew the answers.
My only complaint is that the next book isn’t yet ready!!
I loved Molly in Blaze of Glory,
just because of what she was willing to do for her friend. Now I love her even more. Her family story broke my heart; I just
wanted to hug her and tell her that it’s not her fault what others may
believe. When you know the truth, the
rest is petty jealousies or fear. She is
such a strong and smart girl. We should
all aspire to be her. Doc/Parker needed
to be clouted upside the head and I cheered when his mother finally did it!
I absolutely love this series and
the quirky combination of futuristic cowboys on an Earth that has moved
on. Mandy M. Roth provides a little more
of the background information about why the future is such an odd combination
of steampunk cowboys and space aliens.
Excellent story, amazing characters, and creative history.
