This is the third book in the
Masters of the Shadowlands series. They
each stand on their own, but are better if you have read them each and in
order.
Beth comes to the club to scratch
her itch, but her fears keep her from getting the true relief she seeks (and
needs). Master Nolan seems to be a
perfect match to provide her liberation, but his reaction when he discovered
her secret could destroy the very trust he was trying to create.
I felt so sad for Beth, because even
as she and Master Nolan were building their trust bond, she never felt safe
enough to tell him everything she had hidden within her, because he had already
voiced an opinion without knowing her story.
Those kinds of chains can hobble a relationship before it has time to
fully form.
I laughed, cried, cheered (loudly),
and held my breath. I wanted so badly
for Beth to reawaken her submissive nature despite the experiences of domestic
violence that she has escaped.
