Description from the publisher:
Sixteen
years is a long time to wait for your true love to reappear, and, anyway, Nicki
Johnson couldn't wait for the impossible to happen. Hard life lessons have
taught her that fairy tales are children's stories, and fate is cruel.
Burying her hopes, she's spent the last sixteen years focused and driven toward her career, and it's landed her with a job at the White House with a gem of a boyfriend. But when her high school love, Adam Kincaid, walks into the White House as a BBC reporter, Nicki's world is thrown into turmoil as she relives their past. Adam has come back for her, but has he arrived too late.

This is the second book in the
series. While it would stand alone, you
will appreciate it more if you read the first book, BESIDE YOUR HEART before
DISCLOSURE OF THE HEART. If you intend
to read BYH, then do not read this review until after you have done so, to
prevent spoiling the story.
Niki, now Nicole, and Adam sixteen
years later are both pursuing their careers in Washington, DC. Nicole is now a press secretary for the
president and Adam is a reporter for the BBC.
Though years later, the attraction is immediate as they relive their
past. Do they dare explore a love that would
now cause political and emotional scandal?
As I started writing this post,
Blake Shelton’s “Mine Would Be You” just happened to come onto my Spotify
list. I had to put it onto loop. This song is perfect for this book. Is there anything more romantic than having
the boy you loved in high school admitting that he has always loved you more
than anyone else? Whether fifteen years
or thirty, it is panty-melting! If you
had the chance, would you want your boy to return to you as a man? I promise you, the answer is “yes.” For some, it would be no more than the
confidence-boost of a beautiful and sincere compliment. But if you’re available, I believe it’s
something you would want to explore, see where it may lead. For me, that boy’s name was Frank. I wander what he would say…
I absolutely loved this story. I hope you’ll pick up a copy so that I have
friends to talk to about this. Ms.
Whitney has written a story that is very dear to my heart and I truly look
forward to the third book in this series, FOREVER IN YOUR HEART.
