stand-alone erotic romance.
I loved the chemistry between Amber
and Gage. It is hot and could be
explosive, but they are adults who take the time to allow themselves to think
rationally, too – most of the time. They
are trying to do the right thing for everyone they love, so much so that they
almost forget to do the right thing for themselves. Once they cave, though, it is amazing. The emotions are real and the love leapt off
the page to bury itself in my chest.
Their children were cute and
precocious without being brats. In fact,
they added to the storyline making it a much better book. Lilly is eight and dealing with the loss of
her mother from breast cancer. Ethan is
three and bouncing back from witnessing his father’s abuse of his mother. It’s not easy for a child to trust men after
that, but his grandfather is a stable example and Gage is patient.
I was distracted by the timeline not
adding up – she was a virgin on her wedding night, they were married for three
years, and she has a three year old?
Nope, it disrupted the flow of the story for me. Otherwise, the story was wonderful and the
characters well-developed. I even loved
the villain and he was well played out.
Amy Brent has paired up with Candy
Gray (another new to me author) and brought hot, explosive, forbidden lust to
love to a new amazing story.
