This is the first book in the new Vagabonds series from Jade C. Jamison.  They do need to be read in order, but there are no cliff-hangers.

It was with the release of this series that Jade was dubbed “the Queen of Rock Romance,” and there is no mistaking that it is a title that fits.

In the first book of the series, Kyle Summers is a teen with a serious talent for the guitar and a passion to make it to the top of the industry.  When she is tapped to join an all-girl rock group, it sounds like the beginning of a dream come true.  From her first talent show until the day they leave for tour, Kyle feels she is ready to take those steps to the stage and the top of the charts.

I was swept away in the emotions and excitement of living Kyle’s life as a young woman realizing her greatest ambitions.  This book was a great escape from reality at a time when I need it!

I am so thankful for the schedule of release that Jade has set for this series.  She has made us all wait while she gets all three books in the trilogy ready and is intentionally planning to release each just a few weeks apart.  I for one, am grateful that the wait for book two will not be long.

I received this book as one of the voters through Kindle Scout – a program that asks the readers to vote on the books that will be published through Kindle Press.  In exchange, the voters for the book each receive a copy if it is chosen for publication.  I am so glad I was included in this vote and that it succeeded!

First I’ll say that I love the cover.  It is whimsical and sweet and sets the tone for the story.

For someone who loves the movie Hocus Pocus and whose favorite character of the movie is Thackery (the cat), this book was immediately endearing.  How does the young man feel about being a cat?  What abilities change with the changing physique?  I fell in love with Tom long before Cassie had figured out that her aunt’s pet was a little something more than a pet!

I loved hiding in this story – completely lost to the world as I know it and living the life that Cassie is finding to be uniquely different after inheriting her aunt’s potions shop.  What if the magic were real and not just a con for the tourists?

This story does stand on its own and you could read it and call it quits, but there is still a semi-cliffhanger that begs for attention and continuation.  I sincerely hope that Ms. Nojack will continue this series, because I must know what happens to Cassie and Tom!

I wanted to share a couple of my favorite lines:

This is the first book in the Highland Legends series.  They do need to be read in order.

This is a love triangle like no other that you may have read.  Isobel, Iain, and Velloc live in completely different circumstances and yet fate, magick, angels… somebody… has decided that Isobel is fated to be with both of these men as the perfect soul mate to each of them.  Isobel is from 21^st century America, Iain is from 13^th century Scotland, and Velloc is from 1^st century Scotland as a leader of one of the Pict tribes.  So how do they meet and how does a small blonde travel in time to reset the history of mankind?

I received this book close to a year ago through NetGalley.  For one reason or another, reading it kept getting pushed back and pushed back.  I could kick myself!  This story had it all:  love, lust, history, philosophy, fun, and a few tears.  Ultimately it is a love story… one love story… one woman loving her men and her clans.  .  I think I may have left pieces of my heart in Scotland's past.

I cannot wait to start the second book and continue diving into the rest of this series.
