This is the first book in the
Shifting Impulse series. They do each
stand alone, but I recommend reading them in the order of release.
This book has been re-released with
additional content. My review has been
updated based on my re-reading the new version.
IMHO it has moved from a 4-star to a 5-star with no reservations on my
part!
I love Anna. In the re-write, we have received her back
story; she has been hurt in past
relationships because she’s not a size 2 (or 4, or 6…). I can relate with her self-esteem issues that
this has caused. She’s running scared,
because being alone is sometimes easier than opening yourself up to the
possibility of heartache.
Adam no longer seems as stalkerish,
but when a bear has identified his mate, there is no stopping him and that can
be misinterpreted in the beginning. He
is more than his alpha-type bear, he’s also sweet, calm, and determined to
convince Anna to give him a chance.
Some of the banter between Adam and
Anna was laugh-out-loud funny and real. This
is Aurora Woodlove’s first release and I feel extremely privileged to have been
able to read it. I am looking forward to
more from this series and this author!
