This is the second full-length book in the V.V. Inn series. They do need to be read in order.

After tracking and killing Ivan a few months previously, and the seeing the thrill it provided the guests to out think a master vampire, it has been decided that they would stage a new hunt. Sanctioned by the Tribunal, the guests will be allowed to hunt and claim the power of a rogue. What could possibly go wrong in pitting seven vampires and seven werewolves against one ancient vampire intent on surviving and winning her freedom?

I could not put down this story – you know the kind: you read at the red light, while you eat, and extra minutes on the treadmill just so you don’t have to stop. It was a lot of fun to read this story in not just two voices, but seven! Vivian, Rafe, Jonathan, Drew, Asa, Paul, and Joanna each provide their own insights into their Arctic supernatural world and the events of the week of the hunt. I honestly can’t decide which is my favorite character. They are all wonderfully created – each is unique and complex.

I am already reading the next novel in the series, BIG GAME, and I will post that review tomorrow.
