A COLD DARK PLACE is the first book
in the Cold Justice series. Reading the
book blurbs, I believe each will stand on their own and can be read in any
order.
Both Mallory and Alex have been
scarred by life in big ways. Finding
each other seems to be the first step in finally healing the wounds.
I loved all of the emotions that the
story seemed to pull out of me from fear to laughter and ending with
tears. There was even a gasp (no, not
him!) moment. It had a great balance of
mystery, intrigue, hope, fear, romance (even though both don’t date), charm,
and steam with a bit of mean-girl drama for fun.
This was the first book I read from
Toni Anderson and she has definitely gained a fan. I would recommend this to anyone who loves
the NCIS, Criminal Minds type of TV shows.

Narration:
Eric G. Dove’s voice is smooth and easy to listen to as your driving or
working. Unfortunately, it’s also easy
to let him go into the background if I’m not careful. While every sentence seems to be read with
the proper care, there doesn’t seem to be enough theater to keep me in
tune. Since I know he reads the rest of
the series, I have to assume he improves.
I’m looking forward to hearing more.
