And yes, if you haven’t guessed by now, I’m that Hailey Anne Monroe, daughter to Thomas Frank Monroe, the man who was a half-percentage point from becoming President of the United States. If you were able to ask him, he’d probably tell you that I was the half point. But you can’t ask him, and he can’t tell you. He’s dead. They’re all dead and now I can speak.

A PERFECT LIE is a stand-alone, contemporary, suspense, and romance story.

The words I can write on my blog, but I won’t be able to include on my Amazon review is mind fuck and that’s what this story is! This was the absolute best and truest mind fuck that was ever written. (There I will write mind bending)

Because this is Lisa Renee Jones, the queen of cliff-hangers, but this is a stand-alone, I will provide one spoiler: there is no cliff-hanger! Instead, she has proven she can be a master mindbender as well.

I posted the genre as suspense and romance rather than romantic suspense, because this one is definitely stronger on the suspense than the romance. Still, there is plenty of bow-chica-wow-wow and swoon-worthy sappy-smile stuff, too. Perfectly written and perfectly balanced for the story that it is.

This is a written as a journal with flashbacks to Hailey’s past and then her present thoughts on that past. In those writings, she grapples with a life of darkness, mistrust, and constant grooming to be the perfect future First Daughter.

In the end, I loved the drama, the bit of romance, the defiance, and the friendships (old and new) that kept the story moving along.
