Description from the publisher:
The soldiers at Walter Reed know that war can be brutal and cruel. The biggest battle is often fought after they leave the battlefield.

Ava Sawyer knows the cost of war too well. As a volunteer at Walter Reed she sees the men and woman rotate through the halls as the nation tries to heal its heroes. Using music and movement, she encourages the wounded vets to find a new rhythm in their lives.

Mark Taylor thought his dreams had ended, until a beautiful woman dances into his life and his heart.

Will the scars of war be too much to handle, or can love conquer all?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the first book in the Meet Me series, but each stands alone and they do not need to be read in a particular order.
Every Tuesday and Friday, Ava Sawyer visits Walter Reed Hospital and invites the recovering vets to dance.  She doesn’t see the missing limbs, but instead encourages them to embrace what they do have and to find joy in it.  One of those vets is Mark Taylor.  Mark lost his right leg while on patrol in Afghanistan.  The first time he attended the dance therapy class, he was surly, angry, and doubtful that his life could be good again.  Can love find a way to soothe his battle-scarred body?
Though a short-story, Ms. Collins provides a complete and compelling modern love story.  I honestly debated between four-stars and five-stars.  I love the story, but the writing needs to be a little more show, less tell.  I will say that the “tell” parts were in conversation, so Ms. Collins does know, she just needs more practice at it.  In the end, I decided to give it five-stars for two reasons.  There was enough irreverent comedy that is so raw that it rang true and real.  Also, the characters were so believable and so lovable that I was crying as I finished their love story.
Jade C. Jamison contacted me and asked me if I was willing to take on another Colorado author with a great list of books.  Thank you, Jade, for hooking us together.  Kelly Collins – more, more, more – encore!  I look forward to reading more of your stories.
